Aging

1. Weeping Soldier- In war, the shoulders face many things. The mind ages, not so ignorant. Can never be the same.

Age Progression- The obvious. Everyone ages. And learns from life.

Working in Flossenburg- In the novel, Night by Elie Wiesel, he is sent to a concentration camp. There, he goes through so much that he was no longer the kid he used to be.

Wandering- In life, you go things that might scar you mentally. Then, you might not get over it.

Blessed be the Almighty

Murderer of God

"Blessed be the Almighty...
Blessed be God's name..."
Why, but why would I bless Him? (67)
What are You, my God? (66)
What does Your grandeur mean...? (66)
In the face of all this cowardice (66)
This decay (66)
This misery (66)
Face-to-face with the angel of death (34)

My eyes had opened (68)
I no longer pleaded for anything (68)
Man is stronger,
Greater then God (66)
But look at these men;
Whom you allowed to be tortured
Slaughtered,
Gassed,
Burned (68)
I no longer accepted God's silence (69)

(Wiesel, Night)

Responsibility & Blame

What caused WWII?
Well, the most obvious is Hitler. It was he who rallied people into wipe out a race, who tried to take over everything. He was the guy who started everything.
Then, his followers. The Nazis. Without them, Hitler wouldn't have gone as far has he had.
Next, the Axis Powers. Japan and Italy. If they hadn't supported the Nazis, we would have stopped Hitler earlier.
But then, some of the blame is on us. There wouldn't be as much death if we had gotten into the fight sooner.

Fire & Flesh

Fire. It has been here since the beginning of time. There for us; used for heat, for cooking. It holds the feeling of home. The feeling of being with family on a cold winter night, in front of a fireplace. But everyone knows of the horrors of fire. Fire destroys, the tongues of flame burning everything it touches.

In the novel "Night" by Elie Wiesel, he talks about being on the cattle cars. How fowl the ride to the concentration camp was. How there was a lady, named Mrs. Schächter, who had been separated from her husband and two older sons. Only having her 10-year-old son with her, she had slowly lost her mind.
In the dead of night, she would wake her cattle car with her mad screamings of "Fire! I see fire!", pointing off in the distance. Several nights she had done this. Receiving beatings and restraint almost every time. On the last moments of their ride, they saw fire in the distance, along with a horrible stench.
"In front of us, those flames. In the air, the smell of burning flesh."

Every war starts with fire, the hate of something. A tool of war, using weapons that leave a city burning. And leaves behind fire; misery & death.
War is fire.

Hatred & Discrimination

What is hate?
• Hate is when you strongly dislike something. When you can't look at something/someone and not feel a strong desire to punch it right in the face. Or, well, that's just my definition.
Hate tares people apart. Starts wars. Brings out discrimination.
But hate can't be avoided.

What groups of people suffered the most discrimination during WWII/Holocaust?
• In the Holocaust many people suffered. Like the Jewish, Gays, and Gypsies. Why the Nazis discriminated them, I don't know. But it ruined many families. People witnessed their families being killed, mentally scared many people.
It showed the worst of people. How hate and discrimination can change a world.

What groups of people undergo the most discrimination in the United States today?
• Well, most of the minorities. If you aren't a while male, you are most likely to be treated differently. Like how woman are likely to be paid less then their male co-workers. How some minorities get stereotyped.
Truth is America is still a bit racist. Not as strongly as it used to be. But still.
